What is Camera Commons?
Camera Commons is a photographic facility designed to provide space and resources for photographers as well services for business and the public. We invite and encourage all photographers and friends of photography to be part of our creative community. We are staffed and open four days a week and open by appointment otherwise. Photographers can "do it yourself" for hourly, daily or monthly fees, and those seeking production services can leave your work with us and our staff will provide high quality and competitively priced work.
Camera Commons facilities our studio which hosts 12 foot backdrops for large group or other shoots that need long and wide shoot distance. Profoto lighting package are available including two 1000 watt, two 500 watt and two 250 lights as well as various modifiers -- or supply your own lights at reduced rental fees.
The digital lab includes four scanners and four printers. The printers include the Epson 9900 for prints up to 44 inches wide and as long as you wish. An Epson 7900 for prints up to 24 inches, and a smaller Epson 4900 soon to be dedicated to digital negative printing.. CC also has a HiTi dye-sub printer for 4x6 and 5x7 high volume printing. The enhanced Apple/Eizo work stations that drive both the printers are calibrated so that what you see is what you get using a Mirage RIP. Software includes the latest Photoshop, Lightroom, Capture One, Nik and Portrait Professional. Our scanners include an Imacon X5 including a high volume automated slide feeder for enhanced productivity. The Epson 11000 tabloid scanner will copy negatives and reflective material up to 12 x 17 inches. The twin Epson 750 scanners can scan, when used together, up to 1000 images a day. Staff is available to help you bring out the finest prints possible.
The darkroom is handicapped accessible, and includes a Zone VI cold light split-filter enabled enlarger capable of up to 8x10 negatives, and a Leitz enlarger for incandescent based 35mm black and white negatives. Alternative printing methods are encouraged. Both 8 x 10 and 4 x 5 view cameras are available for use at the facility. The alternative printing room has two UV boxes capable of up to 18x20 prints and a vacuum UV box that will handle up to 20x24 prints. The sinks are capable of prints up to 20 x 24 with automatic tray rockers.

The classroom and workshop gallery seats up to 20 and is equipped with a 65 inch monitor for presentations and showing members work.
There are five large private offices for those who wish to lease private workspace. They include heat, electricity and wifi.
The attractive Street Side Gallery is available for events with ample parking. It has a modified kitchen facility for food and drink assembly although food preparation must be catered from outside suppliers.
